Underclassmen set pace on N-O All-League softball team

Underclassmen dominate the lineup of the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League softball squad including 8 of 13 on the first team and 8 of 12 on the second team.
Undefeated Roy-Hart, which captured outright possession of the N-O championship for the first time with a 14-0 record, is represented on the first team by the trio of senior pitcher Taylor Fry, senior infielder Ashley Bower and freshman outfielder Kayla Brown.
Newfane, which finished in third place at 9-5, is also represented by a trio of players including senior infielder Gabby Sinnott, junior infielder Katie Kneeland and sophomore catcher Olivia Littman.
Akron, which finished in the runner-up spot at 11-3, has placed the battery of senior pitcher Brooke Peters and freshman catcher Abby Stone.
Rounding out the first team are Wilson junior outfielder Ana Bryer, Albion junior infielder Meghan Hurley, CSAT senior pitcher Marissa Lettieri, Barker junior pitcher Erika Moeller and Medina freshman infielder Alisha Scroger.
Fry, Bower, Sinnott and Stone are all repeat selections while Brown, Lettieri, Littman and Moeller were all second team honorees last year.
Fry, a five year varsity player, posted a 19-2 overall record in the circle this season with 104 strikeouts in 117 innings and an earned run average of 1.197. At the plate, she hit .405 with 9 RBIs.
Bower, a three year varsity player, hit .394 with 5 doubles, 3 triples, 6 home runs and 34 RBIs.

Brown, who is also a three year varsity player for the Lady Rams, hit .488 with 4 doubles, 4 triples, 2 home runs and 45 RBIs.
A four year varsity player, Sinnott hit .500 with 1 double, 2 triples, 1 home run and 10 RBIs.
Littman, a three year varsity player, hit .452 with 6 doubles, 1 triple and 16 RBIs.
Kneeland, who is also a three year varsity player for the Lady Panthers, hit .370 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 21 RBIs.
Peters hit .372 with 3 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 10 RBIs.
Stone hit .608 with 4 doubles, 4 triples, 8 home runs and 37 RBIs.
Lettieri, a four year varsity player at pitcher and shortstop, hit .400 with 6 doubles and 1 triple, In the circle she registered 58 strikeouts.
Bryer hit .549 with 1 double, 13 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
Moeller registered 136 strikeouts in 99 innings in the circle for Barker. She had an earned run average of 2.54 as opposing batters hit just .203 off of her.
Hurley, a three year varsity player, hit .583 with 5 home runs and 17 RBIs.
Scroger, who defensively made no errors in 18 games at shortstop for Medina, hit .413 with 11 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run and 11 RIs.
