Unbeaten Wilson girls down Albion

Maintaining a two game lead, undefeated (9-0) defending champion Wilson downed visiting Albion (5-4) 4-1 this afternoon in a key Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer contest.

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Wilson got goals by Lauren Austin and Lauren Couturier in the final 10 minutes of the first half to key the win.

Emily Patterson added an insurance goal for the Lakewomen in the second half.

Wilson grabbed an early 1-0 lead as Kayla Newmann tallied off an assist from Austin but Albion rallied to briefly knot the contest on a goal by Mariah Elsenheimer.

Newfane 5, Medina 1
Two goals by Emily Foltz led the way for Newfane (7-2) in posting a 5-1 win over visiting Medina (2-6-1).

Martha Gardner scored Medina’s goal.

Roy-Hart 4, Barker 0
Emma Lindke and Amber Villella each scored two goals to lead Roy-Hart (4-5) to a 4-0 win over Barker (0-8-1).

Akron 11, CSAT 2
Akron improved to 7-2 with an 11-2 victory over CSAT (1-8) as Cailin Regan had 3 goals and 4 assists.

Erica Papke and Ally Norton each added 2 goals for the Lady Tigers which did suffer a setback when it was learned that their leading scorer, Paige Buscaglia, has been lost for the rest of the season with a torn ACL suffered in a game late last week.
