U14 Fillies place second at tourney

For the second year in a row, the Medina U14 Fillies finished in second place at the Wellsville Tournament over the weekend falling 7-0 to the Elmira Lady Rebels in the title contest.  After pool play on Saturday, Medina defeated EMW Impact, and Horseheads Blast to reach finals against Elmira.  It was a tight 2-0 game after four innings. However, the lady Rebel’s, which went undefeated all weekend, scored 5 runs in the  bottom of the fifth to finally break it open. Saturday pool play MVP’s were: Cora Payne, who threw a 1 hitter against Horseheads Blast; Brandi Guild for her play at short stop, and Ryenn Oliver for her performance behind the plate. In the front row are Libby Cook, Morgan Allis, Brandi Guild, Ashlee Howell, Cora Payne and Grace Cook. Standing are Matt Maynard, Tessa Boyce, Abi Neuman, Brooklyn Brown, Camri King, Lacey Kenward, Micaela Erway, Pam Cook, and Brian Payne. Missing from the photo are Ryenn Oliver, Erin Dunham, and Burt Howell.
