Press release from Genesee Community College

BATAVIA – The Genesee Community College baseball program Monday signed two Albion High student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Connor Barleben and Johnathan Warne have committed to join the program beginning in the fall.

Warne, a catcher, is entering his senior season at Albion High School playing for Bruce Blanchard. A first team All-League selection last year, Warne held a .450 batting average and threw out 90-percent of potential base-stealers. He is a National Honor Society and High Honor Roll student and plans on majoring in Civil Engineering at GCC.

Barleben, also entering his senior campaign at Albion High School for Coach Blanchard, will join in the GCC mix as a pitcher/outfielder. A dominating pitcher at AHS, Barleben sported a sub one-run earned run average and was a first team All-League selection last season. He is a National Honor Society student and plans to major in Physical Therapy at Genesee.
