It was a big state championship weekend for two young Albion hockey players

It was a big weekend for two Albion hockey players, Lux Froman and Cami London, who helped their respective teams capture New York Amateur Hockey Association state championships.

Lux had 2 goals and 1 assist for the Rochester Edge which captured the Tier II 12U championship with a 5-0 record.

The Edge blanked the Malone Minor 46ers 2-0 in the championship game after downing the Binghamton Blizzard 4-1 in the semifinals.

In the preliminary rounds, the Edge downed the Rome Grizzlies 4-2, the Canton Peewee 1-0 in overtime and Malone 2-0.

London had 5 goals and 2 assists for the Amherst Lady Knights which claimed the Tier 1 14U championship.

The Knights defeated the Valley Eagles 5-2 in the championship game after downing the Rochester Jr. Americans 7-1 in the semifinals. London had a goal in each game.

In the preliminary rounds, the Knights bested the Valley Eagles 2-1 and the Rochester Jr. Americans 4-3 (both in shootouts) and the Buffalo Bisons 14-0. London had a pair of goals against Rochester.

London and her Amherst teammates will compete in the USA Hockey National championships at Pittsburgh at the end of the month.
