Twins, Yankees win playoff semifinals

It will be the Bogan and Tuttle Twins vs. the MTA Yankees in the Minor League playoff championship game at 6 p.m. Thursday at Somerset Town Park.

The Twins defeated the Roy-Hart Athletics 4-2 and the Yankees blanked the Mark’s Pizzeria Reds 5-0 in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Sparking the Twins offense were Will Prest who went 3 for 3 and Tyler Allen who was 2 for 2. Also chipping in with hits were Cole Callard, Sawyer Kingsbury, Jackson Shultz, Lukas Grimes and Carlos Doval.

On the mound Callard had 6 strikeouts and Kingsbury had 8.

The Yankees attack was lead by Ryleigh Culver who went 2-3 with a triple and a double, Liam Castricone 2-3 with 2 doubles and Laraeya Guy 2-3 with a double and a single. Breydin Miller, Cameron Kenward, Brennan Woodruff and Sawyer Lilleby all had singles.

On the mound Castricone and Culver pitched well.
