A late rally fell just short as Lyndonville dropped a 44-36 decision to visiting Alexander this evening in a key title deciding Genesee Region League wrestling match.

Trailing by as much as 11 at 26-15, Lyndonville rallied back into a 36-32 lead after a pin in 1:17 by Chris McDonald (138), a one point (3-2) decision win by Dustin Joy (145) and sub minute pins of 42 seconds by Tom Follman (160) and of 21 seconds by Devon Joy (170).

However, Alexander answered back by taking the final two bouts on a third period pin by Derrick Busch (180) and a forfeit win at 195 to claim the win and the title.
