Tri County icers set for playoff weekend

Seeded No. 1, the Tri County Midget hockey team will begin league playoff competition on Saturday at Webster.

Tri County will face the winner of the No. 5 Rochester vs. No. 4 Webster quarterfinal game in the semifinals at 7:15 p.m.

The other quarterfinal match ups will have No. 5 Monroe vs. No. 3 Canandaigua and No. 7 Batavia vs. No. 2 Perinton.

Saturday’s two semifinal winners will advance to Sunday’s championship game at Batavia at 5:45 p.m.

The Tri County offense is led by the high scoring line of Patrick Ricker (37 goals), Matt Nielson (22 goals) and Chase Froman (16 goals).

The defense is led by James Hapeman, who also has 10 goals, and David Archibald, who has 7 goals.

In goal for Tri County is Nate Hawkes who has 5 shutouts on the season.

Tri County brings an 18-6-2 overall record into the playoffs.
