Tri County icers rally late for win

Trailing by five goals, the Tri County Midget Yellow team rallied with a big six goal third period scoring explosion to nip Perinton 8-7 Saturday in an Empire Amateur Hockey League game.

John Pilon scored 4 goals and Patrick Ricker and Josh Wood each netted one during the decisive uprising.  Wood tied the game at 7-7 with just over a minute to go and Wood followed up with the game winner with only 48 seconds remaining.

Pilon also scored a goal in the second period and Carson Bader netted Tri County’s lone first period tally.

Tri County also scored a pair of wins over Webster during the busy weekend.

Tri County bested Webster 10-4 on Friday as Ricker scored 5 goals, Ryan Wells and Jake Esposito two each and Ian McGraw 1.

Tri County led 8-4 after two periods as Ricker netted 2 in the opening period and 3 more in the second.

Tri County then blanked Webster 6-0 this evening as Ricker had 3 goals, Zack Geitner 2 and McGraw 1.

Nick Ray earned his first shutout of the season in goal.

Tri County is now 12-0 in the league and 17-1-1 overall.
