Tri County icers open at tourney
The Tri County Golden Eagles Bantam Travel Team opened the season by competing in the Hockey In The Port Tournament at SUNY Brockport over the weekend.
The Golden Eagles dropped a 4-2 decision to Monroe County in the opening round as Alonzo Story and Mike Holding had the goals.
Patrick Ricker, Holding, Trevor Wisener and Jake Esposito then each scored a goal as the Golden Eagles lost a tight 5-4 decision to the Niagara Junior Purple Eagles.
The Golden Eagles then lost 5-1 to Cazenovia as Story netted the lone goal.
The Golden Eagles will open the league season at Jamestown on October 9.
