Tri County icers are 2nd at Cleveland Tourney
Going 3-1-1 the Tri County Midget Yellow team placed second at the Cleveland Rock and Roll Cup Hockey Tournament this past weekend.
Tri County opened with a 7-2 win over Royal Oaks as Patrick Ricker and James Hapeman each scored 3 goals and Zack Geitner 1.
Ricker then had 2 goals and Max Hapemn 1 in Tri County’s 2-2 tie with Cleveland.
Tri County completed the preliminary round of competition with a 5-1 win over Erie as Ricker netted 2 goals and John Pilon, James Hapeman and Geitner 1 each.
In the semifinals, Tri County downed Batavia 3-1 as Ricker scored 2 goals and Jake Esposito 1.
In the championship game, Tri County dropped a narrow 3-2 decision to Southtowns. Ryan Wells netted both Tri County goals.
Tri County returns to Empire Amateur Hockey League competition this coming weekend with games at Perinton on Saturday and at Monroe County on Sunday.
