Tri County hockey team nears division title
Closing to within a point of capturing the division championship, the Tri County Midget hockey team romped past Webster 11-0 Saturday.
Patrick Ricker scored 3 goals, Jake Esposito and John Pilion 2 and Ian McGraw, Nicholas Weber, James Hapeman and David Archibald 1 each to spark Tri County which led 4-0 after the first period and 6-0 after the second.
Today Tri County dropped a narrow 5-3 decision to undefeated upper division leading Monroe County.
Tri County rallied from a 3-1 deficit into a 3-3 tie on third period goals by Ricker and Josh Gimeli but Monroe regained the lead for good with a power play goal. Ricker also netted Tri County’s other goal in the first period which tied the contest at 1-1.
Tri County is now 15-3-2 in the league and 16-3-2 overall.
