Tri-County Golden Eagle icers post key win; Ramparts romp to remain undefeated

Staying in the thick of the battle for a state tournament berth, the Tri-County Bantam Travel team scored a key 2-0 victory over Olean Saturday in a Western New York Amateur Hockey League game.

Patrick Ricker scored the game winner for the Golden Eagles off assists from Dominic Viola and Jeremiah Rausch. Rausch later netted the second goal.

Tucker Johnson earned the shutout in goal, his second of the season.

Today, the Golden Eagles dropped a 4-2 decision to the Niagara Junior Purple Eagles.

Trailing 3-0, the Golden Eagles closed the gap to 3-2 after goals by Ricker and Viola but could get no closer.

TriCounty is now 8-7-1 in the league and 10-13-1 overall.

Batavia Ramparts romp
The Batavia Ramparts Bantam A team romped to a 14-2 win over the host Niagara Ice Hawks today.  After a brief 1-1 tie in the first period, the Ramparts scored the next seven goals to improve to 15-0 in the league.

Leading the scoring for Batavia were Vinnie DiRisio , Alex Totten and Max Hutchins with 3 goals each. Single goals were added by Katie Carmichael, Nick Call, Dominic Peracciny, Zach Geirner and Cory Saj.

Currently, the Ramparts have outscored the opposition 145-18.  Their next league game is January 20th at Cheektowaga which has a league record of 14-2-2

Tri-County Pee Wee team tops Olean

The Tri-County PeeWee Travel team defeated the Olean Arrows 5-1 on Saturday at SUNY Brockport.

After a slow start with no scoring in the first period, the Eagles scored 3 goals in the second period and 2 more in the third period to secure the win.

Henry Schultz had a 3 point game with a goal and 2 assists.  Carson Bader and William Kennard each added 2 goals.

The PeeWee Travel team is now 11-1-2 in WNYAHL league competition and will travel to Ann Arbor, MI next weekend for a tournament.
