Transformer blows in Murray, shuts down 104
MURRAY – A transformer on Ridge Road blew up on a utility pole at about 4:30 this morning, taking down live wires and setting a tree on fire.
Route 104 was shut down in the area just west of Route 237 until after 7 when firefighters left the scene. Law enforcement isn’t sure what caused the transformer blow. No witnesses saw any vehicles flee the scene, a dispatcher said this morning. National Grid has been on the scene, restoring power.
