Top seeded Lady Eagles romp in C2 opener

Exploding out to a 5-0 lead in the first 15 minutes, top seeded Kendall went on to romp past visiting No. 16 Perry 11-0 in the opening round of the Section V Class C2 girls soccer playoffs this evening.
Sophia Picardo and Ryleigh Denning each scored 3 goals and Stella Kwiatek 1 to get the Lady Eagles off to a flying start. Picardo also had 3 assists on the day.
Payton Vogt, Izzy D’Agostino, Jersey Drake, Alea Barrett, Ava LaMay and Leann Clay also each scored a goal for Kendall.
Improving to 16-1, Kendall will next host Genesee Region League foe Oakfield-Alabama/Elba in the quarterfinals on Friday. Seeded No. 9, Oakfield-Alabama/Elba downed No. 8 Bradford/Dundee 2-0.
Maryvale 2, Albion 1
No. 8 seed Maryvale nipped visiting No. 9 Albion 2-1 in overtime this evening in the opening round of the Section VI Class A girls soccer playoffs.
Olivia Brooks scored the Albion goal.
