Top seeded Kendall advances in C2 sectionals

Getting goal production from five players, top seeded Kendall posted a 7-1 victory over No. 8 Gananda in the quarterfinal round of the Section V Class C2 boys soccer playoffs this afternoon at Kendall.

Pablo Rosario-Reyes scored 3 goals to lead the Kendall attack as Brenden Eichas, Brandon Barrett, William Kludt and Andrew Cole each netted 1. Barrett and Tyler McCue both had 2 assists

Kendall jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead as Eichas scored at the 26 minute mark of the first half and Rosario-Reyes followed up with a goal just two minutes later.

Gananda did briefly cut the deficit to 2-1 with a penalty kick goal but Kendall got that one back with interest before the half ended.

Barrett and Rosario-Reyes answered with goals over the final six minutes to put the Eagles in command by a 4-1 margin at the half.

Second half goals by Rosario-Reyes, Kludt and Cole then closed out the victory for the Eagles.

Improving to 15-1-1, Kendall will next face No. 5 Campbell-Savona game in the semifinals on Wednesday. Campbell-Savona downed No. 4 Perry 2-0.
