Leading by a narrow 8-6 margin, top seeded Bennett scored two touchdowns to close the first half keying a 42-6 victory over No. 8 Medina this evening in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class B playoffs at Buffalo’s All High Stadium.

Medina had pulled to within 8-6 early in the second quarter on a 10 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jason Hellwig to Brett Pecoraro. A 29 yard run by Hellwig, who had a total of 140 yards passing and 74 rushing on the night, set up the score.

However, Bennett answered right back with touchdown runs of 56 and 3 yards by Andrew White to extend the lead to 22-6 at the half.

Medina did drive to the Bennett 9 late in the second quarter but could not capitalize on the opportunity.

Bennett put a lock on the victory with a pair of third quarter touchdown on runs of 10 yards by Isaiah McDuffie and 17 yards by Bradon Brown upping the Tigers advantage to 36-6 at the three-quarter mark.

Bennett improves to 8-0 while Medina slips to 5-3.
