Tigers wrestling tourney to cap off the week
The inaugural Lyndonville Fred Large Memorial Wrestling Tournament will highlight the upcoming week of local high school sports competition.
The tournament, which honors the memory of the Tigers long-time coach Fred Large, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with both varsity and JV competition on a total of six mats split between the two gyms.
A total of 10 teams are slated to compete in the varsity division including Holley, Medina, Akron, Byron-Bergen, Livonia, Pavilion, CSAT, Gow, Gilead and the host Tigers. In addition, Geneva, Greece and St. Joe’s will be entering wrestlers in the JV division.
On the basketball court the Lyndonville boys will face a couple of local teams on the road as the Tigers visit Albion on Wednesday and Kendall on Friday.
