Tigers will open sectionals at home

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Lyndonville’s Noah Poler and his Tiger teammates will host a Section V Class C3 quarterfinal game next Friday evening.

Seeded No. 4 Lyndonville will open Section V Class C3 boys basketball playoff competition by hosting a quarterfinal round game at 7  p.m.  next Friday .

The Tigers will host the winner of Tuesday’s opening round contest between No. 12 Marion and No. 5 Dundee.

Lyndonville brings a 12-8 regular season record into the sectionals while Dundee  is 9-11 and Marion 0-20.

The victor of the Lyndonville game will advance to the C3 semifinals at Genesee Commuity College on March 2.

Also in Class C3, No. 9 Wheatland-Chili (5-15) will face No. 8 Bolivar-Richburg (6-14) on Tuesday at Fillmore with the winner taking on top seeded Cal-Mum (17-3) on Friday. No. 3 Oakfield-Alabama (15-5) will host a quarterfinal game on Friday against the winner of Tuesday’s No. 11 Naples (1-19) and South Seneca (7-13).

In Class C1, No. 12 Holley (2-18) will face No. 5 Rochester Academy (10-8) on Tuesday at a site to be determined with the winner visiting No. 2 Byron-Bergen (13-7) on Friday.

In Class D1, No. 12 Kendall (2-18) will visit No. 5 Honeoye (14-6) on Tuesday. No. 3 Notre Dame (16-4) will host a quarterfinal game on Friday against the winner of Tuesday’s contest between No. 11 Pavilion (3-17) and No. 6 Jasper-Troupsburg (13-7).

Elba (17-3) is the top seed in Class D2. The Lancers will host the winner of the opening round game between No. 9 Destiny (3-14) and No. 8 Belfast (8-12) on Saturday.

In Class C2, No. 9 Pembroke (8-12) will visit No. 8 Bloomfield (9-11) and No. 6 Alexander (11-9) will face No. 11 Campbell-Savona (4-15) at Warsaw, both on Tuesday.

In Class B2, No. 9 Attica (8-12) will face No. 8 World of Inquiry (6-14) on Wednesday with the winner visiting No. 1 Avon (14-6) on Saturday.
