Tigers use fast start to down Irish

Roaring out to a 14-0 lead at the outset, Lyndonville avenged an earlier season 21 point (53-32) home court loss by besting host Notre Dame 69-50 this evening in a Genesee Region League game.

Jacob Hoffee scored a game high 23 ponts to lead the way for Lyndonville as Corey Hydock added 15, Eric Neace 14, Zach Johnson 10 and Nathan Poler 8.

“It’s a huge win for us,” said Lyndonville Coach Lee Dillenbeck. “They just played fantastic right from the opening tip.”

Jake Wetherwax led Notre Dame with 16.

Hydock scored 10 and Johnson 4 in the opening quarter which finished with Lyndonville up 19-5.

The Tigers maintained a 34-22 half-time advantage as Neace tallied 7 in the second period.

Hoffee netted 10 in the third period which helped keep Lyndonville up 52-38 at the three-quarter mark.

Hoffee then scored 9 and Poler 5 in the final stanza to help lock up the win for Lyndonville which improves to 5-7 in the league and 8-9 overall.

Oakfield-Alabama 78, Holley 44
Building up a 40-19 half-time advantage, Oakfield-Alabama went on to defeat visiting Holley 78-44 in another G-R contest.

Reice Woodward scored 20, Tyler Ohlson 17 and Ryan Douglas 16 to lead the Hornets.

Patrick Bower scored 13, Andrew Moseman 8 and Dylan Hillabush and Ryan Andrews 6 for Holley. Bower also had 11 rebounds and Derek McArthur 14.
