Scoring in five different innings, Akron posted a 9-0 victory over host Albion this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game.

Akron took the lead for good in the top of the first inning on a three-run error with two out. Another error followed by two walks set up the opportunity.

The Tigers added solo runs in the second, fifth and sixth innings before capping off the win with three more tallies in the seventh as Anthony Consiglio had and RBI double.

Jack Klodzinski went the distance on the mound for Akron allowing 4 hits and striking out 7.

Dawson Stone had two hits for the Tigers.

Albion had a chance to get back in the game in the second inning as Amari Jones led off with a triple. However, Klodzinski bore down to quickly get out of the jam on a grounder back to the mound and two strikeouts.

The Purple Eagles also got the leadoff batter aboard in the third on a double by Brendan LeBaron but couldn’t capitalize.

Albion’s only other hits came on singles by LeBaron and Jacob Hughson in the sixth inning but a force out at second quickly ended the frame.

Akron is 1-0 and Albion 1-1 in N-O action.
