Tigers romp in G-R diamond opener

Exploding for 12 runs in a marathon first inning, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Wheatland-Chili 23-0 this afternoon in the Genesee Region League baseball opener.

A run producing double by Jacob Hoffee and an RBI single by Eric Neace ignited the Tigers huge uprising which also included a two-run single and an RBI single by Zach Johnson, a two-run single by Mike Wells, an RBI double by Corey Hydock, an RBI single by Cody Bentley an a run producing sacrifice fly by Nolan Donald.

Johnson finished with 3 hits and Hoffee, Neace, Wells, Hydock and Kane Flynn 2 each as the Tigers had a total of 19 base raps.

Cullen Heveron picked up the win on the mound striking out 10 and allowing only 2 hits in 5 innings of work.

Lyndonville next visits Notre Dame in another G-R contest on Tuesday.

Attica 6, Holley 4

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Attica used an error aided five run third inning scoring burst to key a 6-4 win over visiting Holley in another G-R contest.

Dylan Hillabush had a solo home run and a single for Holley.  Hillabush also came on to pitch the final four innings striking out 9 of the 12 batters he faced.
