Tigers rally to edge past Hornets

Coming from behind in the second half, Lyndonville rallied to edge past visiting Oakfield-Alabama 66-62 this evening to improve to 8-1 in Genesee Region League competition (12-1 overall).

Nathan Dillenbeck scored 22, Nathan Poler 13, Zach Johnson 11, Nathan Hydock 10, Matt Hess 8 and Russ Stephens 2 for Lyndonville.

Travis Wedrick tallied 21 and Ty Mott 11 for Oakfield-Alabama.

Lyndonville jumped out to a 19-16 first period lead but Oakfield-Alabama answered back with a 25-15 second period surge, including 13 by Wedrick, to take  41-24 lead at the half.

The Tigers cut the Hornets lead to four, 55-51, at the three-quarter mark and then put together a 15-7 fourth period scoring edge to rally for the victory. Johnson scored 7 and Dillenbeck  to lead the Tigers decisive stretch run.
