Tigers quintet earns All-Star honors in baseball

Division II champion Lyndonville has placed a total of five players on the Genesee Region League All-Star baseball squad.

Senior center fielder AJ Buckland, senior shortstop/pitcher Ty Hrovat and sophomore infielder/pitcher Jacob Hoffee have all earned first team All-Star honors. Outfielder Trevor Bentley and first baseman Brandon Schoolcraft, both seniors, have received Honorable Mention.

Buckland hit .410 this season with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 11 RBIs and 20 stolen bases.

Hrovat hit .479 with 6 doubles, 2 triples and 19 RBIs. He went 5-2 on the mound with 2 saves. He had 44 strikeouts in 50 1/3 innings and an earned run average of 1.11.

Hoffee hit .466 with 5 doubles, 2 triples and 23 RBIs. He went 3-3 on the mound with 36 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings and an era of 2.45.

Bentley hit .434 with 6 doubles, 1 triple and 13 RBIs.

Schoolcraft hit .349 with 8 doubles and 14 RBIs.
