Tigers, Purple Eagles face key league tests

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Lyndonville’s Nate Dillenbeck and Elba’s Colton Dillon will lead their respective teams into Tuesday’s key Genesee Region League Division 2 game at Lyndonville. Albion will visit Newfane on Thursday in a key Niagara-Orleans League title showdown.

Looking to avenge a narrow (53-51) earlier season loss, Lyndonville will host Elba in a key Genesee Region League Division 2 boys basketball game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lyndonville and Elba are now both 4-1 in the division.  The Lancers are 10-1 in the league and 14-3 overall which the Tigers are 7-4 and 10-6.

In the Niagara-Orleans boys basketball league front-running Albion (9-2) will visit runner-up Newfane (7-3) in a key regular season ending showdown on Thursday to determine if the loop will have an outright champion or co-champions. Newfane also has a game on Tuesday against Barker (0-10).

The Purple Eagles defeated the Panthers 53-45 in their earlier season meeting at Albion.
