Tigers post win over Black Knights

Capping off the regular season on a high note, Lyndonville posted a 56-41 Senior Day victory over visiting Marion this afternoon in a non league boys basketball game.
Colton Smith scored 14 and Juan Alberdi and Lane Woodworth both tallied 13 to lead the offense for Lyndonville as Quincy McClinsey added 6, Austin Fonda 4 and Jacob Pitcher 3.
Blake Mayville took game high scoring honors with 25 for Marion which had only five players. The Black Knights played the last four and a half minutes with just four players after one fouled out.
Trailing 10-7, Lyndonville took control with a 21-11 second period scoring surge to rally into a 28-21 half-time advantage.
Smith scored 7, including a three, Alberdi 7, including a three-point play, and McClinsey 4 to lead that Tigers uprising.
Lyndonville then broke the game open with a 14-5 third period scoring edge to extend the advantage to 16 at 42-26. Smith scored 7, including a three, during that stretch.
Woodworth then hit two threes and Fonda had a pair of baskets in the final period to cap off the Tigers win.
Lyndonville finishes the regular season at 2-18 and Marion at 0-19.
