Tigers open strong surging past Racers
Taking charge in the third quarter, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Rochester Academy Charter 57-35 this evening in a season opening non league basketball game.
Leading by just seven, 25-18, at the half, Lyndonville broke the game open by outscoring RAC 19-5 in the decisive third period to open up a commanding 21 point, 44-23, advantage.
Nate Dillenbeck scored 10, including a three and a three-point play, to lead that uprising which also included 5 points by Russell Stephens and a three by Anthony Moule.
The Tigers also got off to a quick start grabbing a 16-8 first period lead as Stephens scored 6 and Dillenbeck 5.
RAC did close the gap to one, 16-15, after outpointing the Tigers 7-0 over the first four minutes of the second period but the Racers would get no closer.
Lyndonville answered right back with a key 7-0 run on a layup by Nathan Hydock followed by a layup and a three by Dillenbeck to regain control at 23-18. A layup by Noah Poler helped keep the Tigers up 25-18 at the half.
Dillenbeck finished with a game high 22 as Stephens had 13, Hydock 10, Poler 6, Moule 3, Roland Balcerzak 2 and Devin Rounds 1.
Deonte Major led RAC with 14.

Barker 58, Kendall 47
Joey Brandt scored 15, Hunter Callen 14, Devonte Hill 10 and Shane Gerhardt 10 each to lead a balanced attack for Barker in a non league 58-47 non league win at Kendall.
Mason Kuhn had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Zach Barrett 11 points for Kendall.
Barker led 28-20 at the half and 42-28 after three quarters.
