Tigers nip Hornets with 7th inning tally

Lyndonville pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to nip visiting Oakfield-Alabama 4-3 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League game.

Improving to 8-0 in the league and 9-0 overall, the Tigers claimed the win as Kane Flynn doubled and came home on an error.

Earlier, the Tigers scored three times in the first inning on a two-run single by Noah Heinsler and a sacrifice fly by Oskar Heinsler. Two walks set up the threat.

The Hornets tied the game by scoring three times in the fifth inning on a single, two walks, an error and a passed ball.

Zach Johnson went the distance on the mound for the Tigers giving up just the one hit with 13 strikeouts.
