Tigers, Hawks have G-R diamond All-Stars

Photo by Mike Wertman – Lyndonville’s Genesee Region League All-Star honorees include Eric Neace, Cody Bentley, Zach Johnson, Jacob Hoffee and Coach Shane Price.

Division II champion Lyndonville has placed a total of five players on the Genesee Region League All-Star baseball squad.

Senior first baseman Eric Neace, senior pitcher/shortstop Mike Wells, senior shortstop/pitcher Jacob Hoffee and sophomore outfielder/pitcher Zach Johnson have all earned G-R All-Star honors while senior second baseman Cody Bentley has received Honorable Mention.

Lyndonville Coach Shane Price has also been honored as G-R Coach of the Year.

Neace hit .537 with 7 doubles, 4 home runs and drove in 29 runs.

Wells hit .477 with 3 doubles, 1 triple and 26 RBIs. On the mound he went 6-1 with 2 saves and a earned run average of 1.14.

Hoffee hit .523 with 12 doubles, 5 triples, 1 home run and and 15 RBIs. He also went 4-1 on the mound with a 2.65 era.

Johnson hit .475 with 3 doubles, 1 triple and 24 RBIs. On the mound he was 3-1 with 1 save and a 091 era.

Bentley hit .345 with 3 doubles and 12 RBIs.

Holley is represented by senior pitcher/first baseman Dylan Hillabush and junior catcher/pitcher Patrick Bower.

Hillabush, who was named G-R Player of the Year, hit .364 with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 6 RBIs. On the mound he went 4-1 with 1 save, 66 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings and a 0.884 era.

Bower hit .394 and registered 24 strikeouts in 13 innings on the mound.

Division 1 champion Attica also has a quartet of All-Stars including senior catcher Kyle Casey, junior pitcher Sam Cusmano, senior first baseman Owen Thompson and eighth grade shortstop/pitcher Trenton Rumley.

The All-Star squad also includes senior shortstop/pitcher Evan Bender, senior third baseman Dylan D’Alba and junior outfielder Devin Grimshaw from Notre Dame; senior outfielder Derrick Busch and senior catcher Dane Heberlein from Alexander; senior catcher Ryan Gonyea and senior pitcher/infielder Colin Noeth from Byron-Bergen and senior first baseman Austin Kotarski and freshman pitcher/infielder Aiden Johnston from Oakfield-Alabama/Elba.
