Tigers have runner-up at NCCC Tourney
Lyndonville’s Mario Fidanza (220) placed second at the Linda Knuutila Memorial Wrestling Tournament held today at Niagara County Community College.
Fidanza opened the tournament with two quick pins of 1:14 and :13. He then edged past John Haberman of Hamburg 1-0 in the semifinals but had to withdraw in the title bout due to an injury default.
Lyndonville also had Connor Bell (120) place sixth.
Roy-Hart had Gavin Ciarfella (99) place fourth and Brett Ricker (113) sixth.
Newfane won the team championship with 196 points as Iroquois finished second at 191.5 and Niagara-Wheatfield third at 186.5.
The Panthers had Andy Lucinski win at 113 as Aiden Gillings (99), Nik Voelker (138) and Jaden Heers (285) all placed second, Ryan Nugent (145) third and Phil Stevenson (153) fourth.
Holley-Kendall went 0-5 at the South Seneca Tournament. Frank Golisano and James Fox both went 3-2 on the day for the Hawks.
