Tigers enjoy two victory day

It was a busy but very successful day for the Lyndonville varsity baseball squad which scored victories both on the road and at home to improve to 17-1 on the season.

The Tigers first defeated host Webster Christian 7-1 in a non league game this morning and then notched a 6-3 Genesee Region League victory at home in the afternoon over Alexander.

Chris Scroger hurled Lyndonville past Webster Christian scattering five hits and striking out five.

Lyndonville took charge with three runs in the third inning as Ty Hrovat had a single and AJ Buckland a triple.

The Tigers later put a lock on the win by adding three runs in the sixth on a double by Justin Edwards and singles by Jacob Hoffee and Hrovat.

Hrovat hurled Lyndonville past Alexander giving up four hits and striking out four.

Lyndonville again got off to a quick start scoring three times in the first inning on singles by Hoffee, Hrovat, Brandon Schoolcraft and a double by Buckland.

Hits by Hoffee, Hrovat and Schoolcraft also combined to help plate three more runs in the second inning.

Oakfield-Alabama 7, Holley 1

Justin Parker had two hits for Holley in the Hawks 7-1 loss to Oakfield-Alabama in the completion of a G-R contest interrupted by weather earlier in he season.
