Snapping a season long five league game losing streak, Akron nipped host Albion 1-0 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans boys soccer contest.

Wyatt Martin scored the game’s lone goal for Akron on a header off a corner kick with just 11:02 remaining in the second half as the Tigers avenged an early season 2-0 loss to the Purple Eagles.

It was Homecoming for Albion which slips to 2-4 in N-O action.

The Purple Eagles next host a pair of undefeated league leading teams, N-O front-runner Newfane at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Genesee Region League leader Byron-Bergen at 12:30 p.m. next Saturday.
