Tigers edge past Irish in G-R opener
Putting together a strong stretch run, Lyndonville edged past host Notre Dame 71-67 in the Genesee Region League season opener this evening.
Trailing 55-50 at the three-quarter mark, Lyndonville rallied to outscore Notre Dame 21-12 in the decisive final stanza to claim the win.
Nathan Dillenbeck scored 8 and Nathan Hydock 7 to lead the way in the fourth quarter for the Tigers.
Dillenbeck also had a big 12 point first quarter which ended with the Tigers and Irish deadlocked at 19-19.
Lyndonville grabbed a slender 36-35 lead at the half but Notre Dame went up by five, 55-50, after three quarters.
Dillenbeck finished with 24, Hydock 17, Russell Stephens 11, Noah Poler 9 and Casey Winiecki 8.
Mark Sanders scored 20, including six threes for Notre Dame as Gabe McDonald added 17, Collin McCulley 12 and Keith Szczepanski 10.
Oakfield-Alabama 69, Holley 43
Building up a 39-16 half-time advantage, Oakfield-Alabama went on to defeat visiting Holley 69-43 in a G-R contest.
Joey Burdick scored 26, Kaden Cusmano 12, Travis Wiedrich 11 and Kameron Cusmano 10 for Oakfield-Alabama.
Kohl Morgan had 18 points and 15 rebounds for Holley as Jake Norman added 8 points and Carson Major 7.
