Tigers down Trojans; Hawks romp

A pair of three run innings keyed Lyndonville to a 6-1 victory over visiting Alexander this afternoon in a Genesee Region League baseball game.

The Tigers scored 3 times in the fourth on RBI singles by Eric Neace and winning pitcher Mike Wells and a sacrifice by Zach Johnson.  A double by Jacob Hoffee ignited that uprising.

Lyndonville then tacked on 3 insurance runs in the fifth on RBI singles by Wells, Neace and Johnson.

Neace finished with 3 hits and Wells 2.

Wells went the distance on the mound allowing just 1 hit and striking out 2.

The Tigers improve to 5-1 in the league and 9-1 overall.

Holley 13, Wheatland-Chili 0
Patrick Bower hurled a 2 hitter with 12 strikeouts in 6 innings of work on the mound to lead Holley past visiting Wheatland-Chili.

A triple by Collin Papaj and a double by Brandon Dillenbeck highlighted the offense for Holley which scored 6 runs in the fourth inning.

G-R Softball

Lyndonville 29, Byron-Bergen 8

Trailing 7-1, Lyndonville rallied with huge scoring bursts of 15 runs in the fifth inning and 12 in the sixth to earn a 29-8 victory over host Byron-Bergen.

Aubrey Lewis had a three-run triple while Miranda Lembcke and Alecia Hinkson both added a single and double with 3 RBIs each to lead the attack for Lyndonville which improvers to 5-1 in G-R action.

G-R Tennis
Notre Dame nipped Holley and Attica edged past Kendall by the identical score of 3-2 in G-R tennis action.

Derek McArthur at first singles and Dalton Thurley and Steven Morgan at second doubles earned the points for Holley.

Kendall likewise got wins from Collin Lewis at first singles and from the second doubles team of Ryan Barrett and Jenna LoSapio.

G-R Golf
Holley defeated Kendall 284-325 but lost to Churchville-Chili 237-284.
