Tigers clinch G-R Division title

Lyndonville put a lock on the Genesee Region League Division II baseball title by defeating host Wheatland-Chili 10-1 this afternoon.

Justin Edwards hurled a four hitter with seven strikeouts for Lyndonville which improves to 11-1 in the league and 15-1 overall.

Edwards also helped himself out at the plate by banging out three hits as Ty Hrovat, and AJ Buckland both had two.

Lyndonville jumped out to an early 4-0 lead by scoring three times in the third inning on a sacrifice by Brandon Schoolcraft, a single by Buckland and a fielders choice play off the bat of Chris Scroger.

Holley 3, Pembroke 2 (8)
Holley pushed across a run in the top of the eighth inning to nip host Pembroke 3-2 in a G-R game.

A one out double by Joe DeFelice set up the threat and the Hawks capitalized on a game winning two out RBI double by Luke Silvis.

Silvis had a total of three hits on the day including two doubles and two RBIs.

Pembroke did mount a threat in the bottom of the eighth getting two runners aboard via a walk and a single before Holley got the final out on a clutch strikeout by DeFelice.

DeFelice allowed only two hits and struck out six over the last three innings.

Holley improves to 8-5 with the win.

Kendall 12, 1, Attica 2, 3
Kendall earned a split with host Attica in a G-R doubleheader. The Eagles won the opener 12-2 but lost the nightcap 3-1.

Richie Swift had three hits for Kendall in the opener as Alex Sutphen, Mookie Nauden and Zach Vogt each added two.

Justin Barrett earned the win on the mound allowing two hits and striking out two in six innings of work.

Kendall managed only three hits in the second game loss.

The Eagles are now 5-6 in the league and 5-9 overall.
