Tigers best Racers; Hawks down Raiders

Pulling away in the second quarter, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Rochester Academy Charter 82-69 this evening in a season opening non league boys basketball game.

Leading by a narrow 17-14 margin after the first period, Lyndonville used a 22-13 second quarter scoring surge to move out to a 39-27 half-time advantage.

Up by only two, 21-19, the Tigers put together a 12-0 run to key the big quarter as Nathan Hydock and Nathan Poler both had a pair of buckets during that spurt. Poler had a total of 9 in the period, Hydock 5 and Matt Hess 4.

Lyndonville maintained a 15 point, 60-45, advantage at the three-quarter mark as Zach Johnson scored 10, including a pair of threes.

Johnson finished with 18, Hydock and Poler 15, Nathan Dillenbeck 10, Hess and Russell Stephens 8, Casey Winiecki and Evan Horn 4.

Albert Tomlin took game high scoring honors for the Racers with 31 as Daniel Garcia added 15.

Holley 49, Barker 34
Jumping out to a 38-22 half-time lead, Holley went on to down host Barker 49-34 in a non league contest.

Matt Wilson and Carson Major both scored 12 and Matt Skehan 10 to lead the way for Holley.

Dan Ober and Andrew Callaghan both scored 8 and Nick Brandt 7 for Barker.
