Tigers score non league win over Bees

Getting double figure point production from a quartet of players, Lyndonville bested host Byron-Bergen 67-57 this evening in a non league boys basketball game.

Russell Stephens scored a game high 21 points to lead  Lyndonville’s balanced attack as Nathan Dillenbeck chipped in with 18, Noah Poler 14,Casey Winiecki 12 and Haydin Woodward 2.

Jarrod Amesbury scored 17 and David Brumstead 16 for Byron-Bergen.

Dillenbeck scored 10 and Stephens 7 in the opening period to spark Lyndonville out to a 21-14 lead.

The Tigers maintained narrow lead of 30-29 at the half and upped the advantage a bit to 47-40 at the three-quarter mark. Dillenbeck and Stephens both tallied 6 in the third period.

Lyndonville put a lock on the win by outpointing B-B 20- 17 in the final stanza as Winiecki scored 7, Poler 6 and Stephens 5.

Improving to 7-5, Lyndonville will host Akron on Friday in the non league season finale.
