Tiger matmen score five wins at Letchworth Tournament

It was a very busy but very successful weekend for the Lyndonville wrestling squad which posted a 5-4 record at the Letchworth Tournament.

The Tigers defeated Wellsville 42-37, Wayland-Cohocton 41-30, Letchworth 54-30, Fillmore 40-27 and Canesteo-Greenwood 35-30 but lost to Byron-Bergen 45-33, Keshequa 48-29, Wellsville 47-42 and Perry 51-27.

Jeff Gress Jr. (99) and Tony Recco (113) both went 9-0 for Lyndonville.

The Tigers also had Dustin Joy (138) and Tom Follman (152) go 8-1, Devon Joy (160) 7-2, Garren Bayne (106) 6-3, Chris McDonald (132) 5-4 and Dustin Hinkley (120) 3-1 before being injured.

Akron Tournament

The host Tigers took top honors at the Akron Tournament today garnering 170.5 points to best runner-up West Seneca West by 21.5 points.

The Tigers had John Fiebelkorn (99), Matt Fiedelkorn (126), Garrett Schultz (180) and Jacob Clark (220) all captured individual weight class titles as Robbie Pequeen (106), Joey Sarrow (182) and David Case (285) all placed second.

Barker/Roy-Hart had Brent Bachman (113) and Cameron Swick (120) place third while Tyler Choate (106) and James Brady (2850 both took fourth.
