Tiger diamond teams earn No. 1 seeds

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Lyndonville’s Stacey Buckland and Zach Johnson and their Tiger treammates have earned top seeds of the upcoming Section V softball and baseball playoffs.

Lyndonville’s Genesee Region League Division II champion baseball and co-champion softball teams have both earned No. 1 seeds for the upcoming Section V playoffs.

The Lyndonville baseball squad will host the winner of the opening round game between No. 8 York and No. 9 Naples at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Class D I playoffs. The victor will then advance to a semifinal round contest on May 24 against either No. 4 Notre Dame or No. 5 Honeoye.

The Lady Tigers softball team will also open at home at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the D1 quarterfinals against the winner of the opening round contest between No. 8 HAC and No. 9 Wheatland-Chili.

The Holley/Kendall baseball team is seeded No. 4 in Class B2 and will host No. 5 LeRoy in the quarterfinals at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

The Holley softball team is seeded No. 8 in Class B2 and will host No. 9 Marcus Whitman at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will then take on top seeded Mynderse on Thursday.

The No. 12 seed Kendall softball team will face No. 5 Campbell-Savona at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Geneseo in a Class C2 opening round contest.

The seedings and pairings for the Section VI softball playoffs will be announced Monday evening and for the baseball playoffs on Tuesday evening.
