Ten veterans to lead Kendall soccer squad

A good group of 10 returnees anchors the lineup for the Kendall boys varsity soccer squad as the Eagles get set for the Genesee Region League season.

Senior Midfielder Jacob Esposito, who earned G-R All-Star honors last fall, heads the Eagles veteran continent which also includes seniors Derek Edick (Midfielder), Joe Nettles (Defender), Tory Raufeisen (Striker), Mike Sammons (Goalie), Hayden VanDusen (Defender) and Erik Woodams (Defender) along with juniors Michael McCue (Midfielder) and Jeffrey Pratt (Forward) and sophomore Zach Barrett (Forward).

“Im very excited with the returning players we have,” said Coach Rich Esposito. “We’re hoping to keep the kids healthy and put a good squad on on the field.”

The Eagles graduation losses included G-R All-Stars Mason Kuhn (Goalie) and Brahayan Gonzalez (Forward) along with Midfielders Tristyn Moyer, Noah Rath, Nick Richardson, Brian Shaw and Dale Steffen and defenders Dawson Custer, Jayden Pieniaszek and Noah Walzer.

Kendall, which went 4-4-2 in the league and 8-8-2 overall last fall, is scheduled to open the G-R campaign at rival Holley on October 5.

October: 5 – at Holley, 7 – Wheatland-Chili, 9 – Byron-Bergen, 14 – at Attica, 17 – Pembroke, 19 – Holley, 21 – at Wheatland-Chili, 23 – at Byron-Bergen, 27 – Attica, 29 – at Pembroke, 31 – at Holley.

November: 2 – at Wheatland-Chili, 5 – Byron-Bergen.
