The temperatures will take a dramatic turn Thursday, going from near 70 on Tuesday to a high of 36 on Thursday with snow showers likely, mainly between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. A half-inch of snow accumulation is possible.

The National Weather Service has cancelled a winter weather advisory for the Rochester area. “The storm system moving northward along the east coast is now expected to be farther east and weaker, resulting in far less snow than originally anticipated,” the Weather Service said about Monroe County. “Accumulations of 1-2 inches are possible late tonight and Thursday, mainly across the higher terrain of the interior Southern Tier and western Finger Lakes.”

The high temperatures for Orleans County after Thursday include mostly sunny and 38 on Friday, mostly sunny and 50 on Saturday, and mostly sunny and 53 on Sunday.
