Task Force makes third opioid-related arrest this week in Orleans

MEDINA – The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force made its third opioid-related arrest this week after charging a Medina man today.

John W. Murphy, 34, of 2 Ringer Ave. allegedly was involved with the sale and distribution of prescription Suboxone strips.

He has been charged with one county each of criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, which are Class D felonies punishable up to 2 ½ years in state prison.

Murphy was arraigned in the Ridgeway Town Court by Town Justice Joseph Kujawa, and was committed to the Orleans County Jail on $50,000 bail, cash or bond. He is to return to Ridgeway Town Court on Aug. 7 at 9 a.m.

The Task Force this week also arrested two Lyndonville residents on drug charges. Erlinda Rodriguez-Zuniga, 49, of South Lyndonville Road is accused selling and distributing prescription hydrocodone pills.

Hunter L. Green, 20, of East Yates Center Road was arrested on Monday following an investigation into the sale and distribution of heroin, fentanyl and prescription Suboxone.
