Surging Lakewomen down Lady Rams

Making it eight wins in a row, defending champion Wilson rolled to a 58-35 victory over host Roy-Hart in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game this evening.
Avenging an early 44-42 home court loss, Wilson improve to 8-2 in N-O action and closes to within a half game of front-running 9-2 Newfane.
Kairi Beck scored a game high 18, Rowan Simpson 13 and Addison Elia 12 to lead the way for the Lakewomen as Bella Thrush added 5, Abbie Faery 4 and Grace Smith, Kylee Elia and Lucy Madan 2 each.
Adella Dukes had 14 and Courtney Aquilina 10 to pace the Lady Rams as Kylie McOmber and Kaitlin Mettler both tallied 4, Millie Owens 2 and Brooke Corser 1.
Getting good results from an aggressive defense, Wilson took charge at the outset jumping out to a 20-8 first quarter lead. Simpson had 8, including a pair of threes, Beck 7 and Addison Elia a three to lead that surge.
Keeping the momentum the Lakewomen used an 18-8 second period scoring edge to boost their advantage to 22, 38-16, at the half. Addison Elia had 7, including a three, and Beck 5 to spark that uprising.
The Lakewomen maintained a 20 point, 45-25, advantage at the end of the third quarter.
N-O Standings: Newfane 9-2, Wilson 8-2, Akron 6-2, Roy-Hart 5-4, Albion 3-7, Medina 2-8, Barker 0-8.
