The National Weather Service in Buffalo says there is a slight risk of strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon and early this evening in Orleans County. The primary threat with any stronger storms will be damaging winds, the Weather Service said.

In addition, high waves are expected to lead to dangerous swimming conditions and a high swim risk along the Lake Ontario shoreline tonight.

The new few days will be sunny with highs of 74 on Thursday, 78 on Friday, 82 on Saturday and 88 on Friday, according to the Weather Service.
