Strong start for Callard and the Red Dragons

The place kicking of Medina High graduate Cole Callard has helped Cortland open the football season with a pair of road victories.
Callard, who is a sophomore at Cortland, has kicked two field goals on distances of 28 and 34 yards and has booted six extra points as the Red Dragons have defeated Grove City 28-18 and Union 26-0.
He is also handling the kickoff duties.
Callard, who is a Sport Management major, earned second team All Empire Eight Conference honors last year as a freshman. He scored a total of 70 points on 52 extra point kicks and 6 field goals.
The Red Dragons will host Hartwick on Saturday in the home opener.
