Photos by Cheryl Wertman – A thunder and lightning storm wiped out this afternoon’s slate of Niagara-Orleans League cross-country meets. The Akron at Medina meet, which was the Mustangs first run at the new Boxwood Cemetery course, was halted midway through the girls race. The boys race never got started. Here Medina’s Hannah Heil is shown in action just below the hilly portion of the course just before the storm brought a halt to the event. The Newfane at Barker and Albion and Roy-Hart at Wilson meets were also both washed out. Both have been rescheduled for Thursday.

The Medina girls team runs along Glenwood Lake at the start of the race.
