Storm could bring 9 inches or more of snow

Winter storm watch in effect from 10 p.m. Wednesday until 1 p.m. Friday

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter storm watch from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 1 p.m. on Friday for Orleans County and all of western New York and north central New York.

The storm could bring 9 inches or more of snow, making travel very difficult to impossible on Thursday, when the snow will be the heaviest, the Weather Service said.

The forecast for Tuesday calls for sunny with a high near 38, followed by cloudy on Wednesday with a high near 38. On Wednesday rain and snow are likely before 7 p.m., then snow later that night.

On Thursday, the snow could be heavy at times. The high is forecast for 28 with a low of 16.

On Friday, there is a chance of snow before 1 p.m., then snow showers after 1. The high is forecast to be near 16.
