State meet is next for Medina sophomore

Contributed Photo – Medina High sophomore Madelynn Rutledge will be competing in the Long Jump at the state track and field championships on Friday at Cicero North Syracuse High School. Rutledge qualified for the state championships by posting a school record leap of 17-6 1/2 at the Section VI state qualifier meet this past weekend. That effort broke her own school record of 17-4 1/2 which she set at the recent Niagara-Orleans All-League meet. She is slated to compete in the Division 2 (small school) Long Jump competition at 2:30 Friday afternoon. The overall (Divisions 1 and 2) state final Long Jump competition is scheduled for Saturday.
