Press Release, State Senator Rob Ortt

ALBION – Today, Senator Rob Ortt (R-North Tonawanda) joined the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office for the reveal of the office’s new traffic trailers. The purchase of this new equipment was made possible due to money Sen. Ortt secured in New York State public protection funds.

The new trailers will be utilized on popular roads to help raise drivers’ awareness of the speed limit and decrease automobile accidents.

“Many of the law enforcement offices across our state, especially the ones in rural New York, struggle with the rising cost of new technology and new equipment,” said Sen. Rob Ortt. “That is why it’s crucial our state continues to do its part in assisting these localities with the increasing cost of safety. I am proud to have helped secure these funds for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, so that they may ensure a safer and better quality of life for the residents and law enforcement officers of Orleans County alike.”

“Thank you to Senator Ortt for awarding Orleans County Sheriff’s Office an important public protection grant,” said Orleans County Sheriff Randy Bower. “These funds have allowed us to purchase traffic speed trailers the past two years, and we are now able to deploy the trailers to locations requested by our constituents who have speeding concerns throughout our county.”
