Standoff in Knowlesville shuts down traffic in area

UPDATED 7:10 a.m.: The standoff ended peacefully at 2:48 a.m. with the suspect being taken into custody, Sheriff Randy Bower said this morning.

KNOWLESVILLE — Traffic is not being allowed on Knowlesville Road where law enforcement have gathered at a standoff with a person who has a rifle and is refusing to come out of a house.

State Police, the Orleans County Sheriff’s office and the SWAT Team are all at the scene.

Law enforcement was called to the site just before 6 p.m.
